I haven't thought much about Yeddy troubles in Karnataka, until recently. I hadn't heard about Shobha Karandlaje. I vaguely remember a woman minister performing Yoga during one of the workshops of BJP administration in the state.
Then I read that Reddy Yeddy Wrangle was resolved. Shobha was sacrificed. The priest, oh it is the priestess, at the altar of sacrifice was Sushma Swaraj, another succeful woman politican.
I wonder why a state level woman politican, aspiring to stardom in the party, is dumped in this manner. The CM shed tears in public at being 'forced' to 'betray' his trusted.
Is it because she is a woman? Is it because she is a spinster? Is it because she is not a proxy for a man and a voice of hers own? Does this mean that in public life, a woman cannot work with a man at the helm? Does it mean that a man must have a wife (Yeddy is widower) if he should have female confidentes?
Then I read this: "India may be the world's second fastest growing economy but when it comes to man-woman equality the country figures at the bottom of the table, ranked 114th among 134 countries by the World Economic Forum".Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
