The elections are over and the new government under Mr. Manmohan Singh has got on with the task of 'governance'.  A few noises had been made in the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections and they had the desired results. However, now that the results are out and the next elections probably five years away, it is time  for the government to get back to its old ways. The irony is that public memory is short-lived and with our front-line media houses scrambling to be seen on the right side of the new regime ( after all why does NDTV has to do a show on the Gandhi family probably every fortnite ? ) probably none of these flip-flops would  be questioned. However, I do hope that the new regime's flipflops would provide me with enough 'scenes' to let me 'compile' a new play. So, here we go ...

Act 1 Scene 1

After the Mumbai Terror attacks the then Chief Minister of Maharashtra visited the Hotel Taj with noted film-maker Ram Gopal Verma. The furore caused by this visit resulted in Mr. Deshmukh losing his Chief Ministerial position. However I don't know what has changed so dramatically over the last four months that Mr. Deshmukh has now been appointed as the Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises. Any clues guys?

Act 1 Scene 2

There had been loud talks during the election campaign that the UPA had saved the aam-admi by dismantling the de-regulated price mechanism for petroleum products that NDA regime had put in place in 2004. Now that the elections are over, and the aam-admi probably busy trying to figure out which aam to buy, the newly appointed petroleum minister thinks that it is time to go back to a de-regulated price mechanism. So can somebody tell me why was the mechanism put in place by the NDA regime in 2004 discarded in the first place?

Act 1 Scene 3

After the elections results were out, our strong Prime Minister put his foot down on the question of induction of Mr TR Balu and Mr A Raja into the new Union cabinet as they faced corruption charges. However, all it took were a few phone calls from Chennai and a  couple of consultations with Mrs Sonia Gandhi for our strong Prime Minister to figure out that he was, probably, putting his foot down on the wrong pedal.

Hoping for many more scenes and acts for my play ...
