Year 2008 has been a quite eventful year. There are several things
which actually happened in year 2008, but would continue to make their
impacts felt beyond this year. This makes year 2009 a year from which
several hopes are being attached. Simply put, 2009 is starting as a
year of great expectations and it remains to be seen how it would
unfold. In such a year even the most established astrologer may find it
difficult to predict the things for coming year. However, that does not
stop me from putting up my list of predictions for current year. Here
it goes:-
-
In 2009 LS elections, a very weak government with support of several
very very small parties will be formed. It will be similar to 1996,
with confused leaders like Gowda getting their names into history books.
- Sensex would continue its zigzag centering around 8k. However, it might
go down further during election time, when a weak gov with a unpopular
(read compromised) leader would be formed at center.
- There would be more attacks in absence of a strong leader at Center.
- Many people would lose their jobs. It would be a toss-up between you and your friend.
- Obama will try his best but would not be able to bring back US economy to stand on its own.
- Federer to make a comeback, and probably break Sampras record at
Wimbledon 2009. His rivalry will Nadal will reach new heights.
(Disclaimer: I am a Federer's fan)
- Australia will slide further and real embarrassment would come in
Ashes 2009. SA will the number one Test side. Some would claim they
already are.
- Dravid will retire and will be replaced by Pujara, who will become the
most promising player of 2009. Dhoni's dream run will come to an end in
New Zealand. However, he would still be a undisputed leader.
- Saina Nahiwal will continue to do well. She has a good chance of breaking into Top 5.
- Cplash would become even more popular and would be 'discovered'. ;)
I do not know how many of them are going to be true, but it will be
interesting to visit this post again at the end of this year and see
how many I have got right.
What are your predictions for this year?
